  • What is important in the application process?

    In the application process, it is important for us to get to know you as a person and what makes you special. It is therefore particularly important to us that we gain as much insight as possible into who you are, what drives you and why you see yourself at Wempe. We look forward to getting to know you!

  • Application & short list

    A motivation letter is optional, but it offers you the opportunity to tell us more about your personality and your goals. Especially at the beginning of your career, it can be helpful, as your résumé may not yet reflect all aspects of your motivation. Feel free to explain why you are interested in this specific position, what goals you are pursuing, and why this role represents a meaningful next step for you. You can also let us know which experiences and strengths you would bring to the team.

    If we move forward to a first interview, we’ll be happy to build on your letter and use it as a starting point for our conversation.

  • Video interview

    If your application convinces us on a professional level, we may invite you to a short video or phone interview. Whether this step is necessary depends on the specific position and your place of residence.

    The number and format of interviews can vary depending on the role. In most cases, we conduct two interviews. What matters most to us is getting to know you as a person and finding out whether we’re a good fit for each other.

  • Personal interview on site

    Introductory meeting and trial work
    In most cases, we’ll meet in person at the relevant office or department so you can get to know the team and your future workplace. Sometimes, there's also the opportunity to join us for a short trial period to get a feel for the role and the day-to-day work.

    For corporate positions:
    In a second interview, you'll meet additional team members, giving you a deeper insight into how we work together.

  • Decision & contract proposal

    At the end of the application process, we’ll get back to you. If both sides feel it’s a good fit, we’ll invite you for a final conversation, make you an offer, and walk you through everything you need to know about your start and the onboarding process.

  • Onboarding

    Our onboarding process follows a clear structure and is tailored to your specific role. You’ll receive everything you need – from the necessary equipment to all relevant information – to ensure a smooth start and help you feel at ease from day one.

    Our academy is the centre of our personnel development.   • All vacancy announcements on our career page are current. As long as a position is online, we still accept applications. Some adverts may run for longer, for example if we are looking for several employees to join the team or if the job requires special qualifications.

  • The easiest way is to use the application button in the respective announcement. That way, your application goes directly to the correct contact person in the recruiting team. Uncomplicated, without an applicant profile, and online in just a few minutes.

  • We check every application carefully and in person. Depending on the number of applications, the selection process can take a bit of time. We strive to get back to you as soon as possible. If you have questions in the meantime, please feel free to get in touch – your contact person is listed right in the vacancy announcement.

  • Lots! You can take part in professional sales training in Hamburg or get to know our head office. You visit our watch manufactory in Glashütte, automatically become familiar with other locations, and have access to a wide range of online training programmes on our Wempe E-Learning Academy. In addition, you build a network of important contacts and gather unique experience.

  • Good German skills are very important to us for our customer support. You don't have to be a native speaker of German, but skills at the B2 level are desirable. Just send us a certification of your German skills with your application. Any other language skills you may have are extremely valuable to us because of our international customers and partners.

  • Our application process is mostly digital, so you can apply from outside Germany without any problems. For the final step in the application process – a meet-and-greet day at one of our locations or in Glashütte – you will need to be on site in Germany. We cannot offer you a position with Wempe without meeting you in person.

  • We do value a well-groomed appearance. There are no uniforms at Wempe. Our preferred style is "individual chic". As soon as you start working for us, we'll give you more information on this topic.

    This is where our company’s head office is located.

  • Hamburg Stubbenhuk

    The Wempe Kontorhaus Stubbenhuk in Hamburg is home to one of the largest and most modern watch service centres in Europe. Top quality, high precision timepieces are serviced and repaired here.  The building also houses the Chronometerwerke Maritim as well as the Visual Marketing department.

  • Glashütte - Training Centre

    This is where Wempe trains the next generation of watchmakers. Our trainees are among the best in the industry.

  • Glashütte – Sternwarte

    Sternwarte Wempe Glashütte is a landmark of the watchmaking city of Glashütte in Saxony. Wempe acquired the building, which was erected between 1904 and 1910 as an astronomical observatory, in 2005. Since 2006, it has again been used as an observatory and has housed the chronometer testing facility Deutsche Chronometerprüfstelle. The Wempe Chronometerwerke Glashütte I/SA service centre has been located in the new building since 2011.

  • Central Watch Service

    In our Hamburg watch service centre and the Sternwarte Glashütte branch facility, we carry out partial repairs and complete refurbishments of watches. Together, these two locations make up Europe’s largest independent watch service centre.
