The protection of your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. We only collect or use your data for our own purposes in accordance with the Federal Data Protection Act and other legal provisions. Furthermore, it is important to us that you always know when we store data and how we use it. The following information tells you where we receive information from you during your visit to our website and how we handle it.
The name and contact details can be found in our general privacy policy
Scope of the processing of personal data
We collect and use the personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. The collection and use of our users' personal data only takes place regularly with the user's consent. An exception applies in cases where it is not possible to obtain prior consent for factual reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by law.
Please read our general privacy policy for information on data processing on our general website and the technologies used on our homepage
In the following, we inform you about the special features of data processing that you will find on our career pages.
In our career portal, we offer applicants the opportunity to submit applications to us by providing personal data. The data is entered into an input mask and transmitted to us and stored. The data is not passed on to third parties.
We take technical and organizational measures to ensure that your data is protected against accidental or intentional manipulation and unauthorized access. Your data is transmitted using a special SSL connection to ensure the highest level of state-of-the-art data security. It is expressly pointed out that despite these measures, the possibility of unauthorized persons gaining knowledge of or even falsifying data cannot be completely ruled out.
All personal data and attachments to your application will only be collected and used by Wempe for the purpose of evaluation, analysis and allocation in connection with the application procedure.
The data you provide can only be accessed by responsible employees from the HR department who are involved in the selection and recruitment of applicants. In the event of an application for a specific advertised position, your data will be passed on to the responsible managers in the relevant specialist departments and branches. Your data will not be passed on to third parties.
After sending your documents, your data will be stored in a database. You can contact us at any time to request the deletion of your data. Regardless of whether you have applied for a specific position or have only expressed a general interest.

Before sending the application documents via the form, confirmation of the career data protection declaration is obtained from the applicant for the processing of this data.
If you send us your application documents in writing outside of our website, we will scan your documents and enter the data into our applicant management system. We will also save the information you provide to us in free text outside the standardized data fields with your attachments and, if necessary, transfer it to free text data fields.
In the case of email applications, we will also transfer your documents to our applicant management system.
Applications via your XING profile:
You can apply to us by providing us with your data via your XING profile and sending us any missing documents via our careers pages.
By choosing this route via the XING button, you grant us access to your profile so that we can read it.
We will then only extract the above-mentioned information required by us for our applicant profile. Please note, however, that the read authorization you grant us will also allow us to see further information from your professional contacts and, if applicable, your CV.
On XING, your profile usually also shows the last visitors and, if applicable, the way in which they found you. Other XING users may therefore also find out that we have contacted them. The legal basis for the processing of data when initiating a contractual relationship and implementing pre-contractual measures is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. B) GDPR.
The information is required so that we can contact you and check your suitability for the position you have applied for. This enables the initiation of a contractual relationship for employment with us.
If you send us an unsolicited application and are generally interested in joining Wempe, your information will be stored in a database in the same way as when you apply for a job advertisement. Wempe employees in the HR department who are involved in the selection and recruitment of applicants can search this database in order to fill vacant positions with suitable candidates.
The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected. This means when we have decided to fill the position elsewhere or to no longer pursue an unsolicited application.
In the event that you apply for a specific vacancy or submit an unsolicited application, your data will be taken into account for the duration of the selection process. In this case, your data will be passed on to the responsible managers in the relevant specialist departments and branches. After six months following a possible rejection, we will anonymize your data down to basic data (name, date of birth, internal comments, position applied for) in order to be able to identify any multiple applications. All attachments and all communication between the applicant and Wempe will be deleted. The anonymized data is stored so that we can create reports in the portal statistics. As soon as your data has been anonymized to truncated data, it will no longer be taken into account when searching for suitable candidates within the database.
We will keep unsolicited applications and applications that we would like to include in our talent pool for a period of 12 months. We will obtain a separate written declaration of consent from you for this purpose. After this period, we will proceed with these applications as described above for anonymization. The complete deletion of the core data takes place after 36 months.
If we decide to offer you a contract and you accept it, your documents will be transferred to our ongoing personnel administration as part of the usual processes. They will then continue to be used in accordance with the relevant legal regulations.
You can contact us at any time via karriere@wempe.de to request the deletion of your data. Regardless of whether you have applied for a specific position or have only expressed a general interest.
Please refer to the “Newsletter” section of the general privacy policy (https://vor2016.wempe.de/de-de/seiten/datenschutz). This is a newsletter to be sent by e-mail about current job offers. They can be selected according to the criteria of location and area of responsibility. This information will be stored for the duration of this job newsletter together with your e-mail address and the other data mentioned above. When you unsubscribe from the job alert, these assignments will also be deleted.
You can unsubscribe from the job alert in the following way and thus initiate the deletion: See section 4. or by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the job alert email.
You have the option of commenting on posts in our career blog. You must enter a name and an e-mail address as mandatory fields. The e-mail address is only stored internally by us to prevent misuse of the blog. It will not be published. Your name allows you to use a pseudonym. Your real name is not required.
Your contributions will be saved and, if necessary, published after review by the administration as long as the main blog post you are commenting on is published. An interim change or subsequent deletion is only possible by contacting our personnel department at: karriere@wempe.de.
We process your data on the basis of Art. 6 I a) GDPR, as you consent to the processing of your data by writing your contribution.
We use social plug-ins from the social networks Facebook, Twitter and Xing on our website on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR to give you the opportunity to share our posts on the career portal there. The underlying advertising purpose is to be regarded as a legitimate interest within the meaning of the GDPR. Responsibility for data protection-compliant operation must be guaranteed by the respective provider.
We integrate these plug-ins using the so-called two-click method in order to protect visitors to our website in the best possible way. This means that no data is transmitted to these networks unless you click on the corresponding button yourself. Data is not collected simply by loading the page.
We ourselves do not store any data via these plug-in embeddings. They are simply forwarded to the social networks in accordance with their respective processing rules.
a) Facebook
Social media plugins from Facebook are used on our website to make their use more personal. We use the “SHARE” button for this purpose. This is an offer from Facebook that we have modified so that your IP address is not recorded by Facebook as soon as the page is loaded.
When you click on this button, which contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers.
As a result, Facebook receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook account or are not currently logged in to Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there. If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can directly associate your visit to our website with your Facebook account.
The information is also published on Facebook and displayed to your Facebook friends.
Facebook may use this information for the purposes of advertising, market research and the needs-based design of Facebook pages. For this purpose, Facebook creates usage, interest and relationship profiles, e.g. to evaluate your use of our website with regard to the advertisements displayed to you on Facebook, to inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website and to provide other services associated with the use of Facebook.
If you do not want Facebook to assign the data collected via our website to your Facebook account, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website.
The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook as well as your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy can be found in Facebook's data protection information.
b) Twitter
Plugins of the short message network
of Twitter Inc. (Twitter) are integrated on our website. You can recognize the Twitter plugins (tweet button) by the Twitter logo on our site. You can find an overview of tweet buttons here (https://about.twitter.com/resources/buttons).
When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Twitter server.
Twitter then receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click on the Twitter “tweet button” while you are logged into your Twitter account, you can link the content of our pages to your Twitter profile. This allows Twitter to associate your visit to our website with your user account.
We would like to point out that, as the provider of the pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Twitter.
If you do not want Twitter to be able to associate your visit to our pages, please log out of your Twitter user account. Further information on this can be found in Twitter's privacy policy (https://twitter.com/privacy).
c) Xing
The “XING share button” is used on our career pages. When you access this website, your browser establishes a short-term connection to the servers of XING AG (“XING”), with which the “XING Share Button” functions (in particular the calculation/display of the counter value) are provided. XING does not store any personal data about you when you access this website. In particular, XING does not store any IP addresses. There is also no evaluation of your usage behavior through the use of cookies in connection with the “XING Share Button”. You can access the current data protection information on the “XING Share button” and additional information on this website
a) Description, purpose and scope of data processing
We provide you with integrations of YouTube of Google Inc, USA, within this website so that you can watch vivid visualizations via videos. YouTube allows you to register for user accounts and thus join a Google network.
When you click on the video icon, the YouTube plug-in determines at least the IP address of the user and the page address from which it was activated. As long as you are logged into a YouTube account at the same time, YouTube can observe your usage behavior and associate it with your account. This allows personal profiles to be created that are available to Google.
We integrate these plug-ins using the so-called two-click method in order to protect visitors to our website in the best possible way. This means that no data is transmitted to these networks unless you activate the plug-in yourself by clicking on it. Data is not collected simply by loading the page.
b) Legal basis for data processing
By using this website and the functions of the YouTube integrations of Google Inc., USA, you consent to the collection and use of the automatically collected data and the data entered by you by Google in the USA within the meaning of Art. 6 I a GDPR. Google is certified under the so-called “Privacy Shield” decision of the European Commission to ensure an adequate level of data protection in accordance with the European Union.
The certification documents are available from the US Department of Commerce. The European Commission's “Privacy Shield” adequacy decision guarantees minimum standards for the protection of personal data of Europeans that is stored or processed in the USA.
In the context of data use for YouTube, Google acts on its own responsibility and is not bound to act on our behalf.
c) Duration of storage, objection and removal options
We do not have any knowledge of the specific processing carried out by Google and the options for influencing this. You can find more details in the data protection center of google.de: Google privacy policy and in the YouTube terms of use.
If you do not want Google to monitor your usage behavior, please log out of your YouTube account before accessing this page.
